We're sharing this assessment from marine surveyor Walt Wilsey of Alligator Marine of Norfolk, VA.
After the boat was raised, I inspected the engine room and found no physical damage or hull openings that would cause the boat to sink. However, the engine room bilge pumps were off when the boat was raised. All suspect items such as exhaust hoses, hull penetrations, scuppers and check valves seemed to be in good condition and functioning properly. No leaks were detected.
I spent approximately 30 minutes on the boat after it was raised. There was no evidence of water intrusion during this period.
